FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEXUS MOVES SALES PLANNING ONLINE WITH LATEST RELEASE OF HOTELWORX

The latest release of HotelworX™ - Nexus’ sales force automation system (SFA) for hotel groups - incorporates Sales Optimiser™, a sales planning tool that moves the annual revenue budgeting and forecasting process from spreadsheets to an online environment where it integrates with all other aspects of a client account profile.

Sales Optimiser, developed in partnership with UK-based hospitality consultancy group Delta Squared Performance Improvement Ltd, brings a new level of accountability to the sales process by ensuring that sales targets and their associated sales actions are specific and measurable, and importantly, that they remain ‘front and centre’ throughout the year. Sales Optimiser also delivers a full suite of reporting, including variances against Actuals using data imported from other production systems.

HotelworX 7.2 also sees the introduction of export and import of contacts and the ability to send emails from the system.  The system is web-based and utilises the very latest Rich Internet Application technology to provide the speed and ‘drag and drop’ capabilities of a desktop application. Uniquely, it is also fully integrated with Nexus’ existing Consortia and Corporate RFP and group sales lead modules, giving sales people instant access to valuable ‘live’ sales information.

“Omni Hotels has successfully worked with HotelworX for the past year”, says Tracie Houston-Amend, Corporate Director of Business Travel Sales. “What we’ve found most successful about the product is the level of detailed data collection that allows our team to be strategic and effective in a changing economy.”

Geoff Andrew, Nexus’ Managing Director comments:
“Sales teams are not well served in the hotel industry from a technology perspective. IT decisions tend to be driven by operational needs – like the PMS or CRS - and the sales department is often forced to either make do with a system that was not designed for sales, or turn to a generic stand-alone solution that takes an enormous amount of time and money to customize and was not designed for hotels. In either case, it’s a recipe for frustration. HotelworX fills the gap; right out of the box it looks and feels like a sales management tool for our industry and we continue to add functionality that reflects the real life needs of hotel sales teams.”

Geoff Andrew, Managing Director here: Three years ago we all held our breath as 2009 opened for business and waited for the ground to open up and send the travel industry hurtling into the abyss. And obligingly, it did. Having crawled tenaciously back out of the hole through the continuing uncertainty of 2010 and 2011 many of us had the same sense of impending doom as 2012 opened its eyes for the first time. Surely the ... [  Read More +  ]
