FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CITIZENM HOTELS AND NEXUS WORLD SERVICES PARTNER FOR TECHNOLOGY

London— 10 December 2007— Newly launched hotel chain citizenM has chosen Nexus as a technology partner for its sales operations. The agreement, which commences immediately, will provide an automated platform for the citizenM sales team to do business with major corporations, travel management companies and other travel providers.

Says Lennert de Jong, the hotel chain's Distribution and Business Development Director: "Our state-of-the-art technology is a key element of citizenM's market positioning so it's important for us to choose 'best of breed' solutions in every category. The Nexus system is a very smart application that will automate a number of manual processes."

citizenM is shorthand for Citizen Mobile, a newly emerging segment of independent global travellers looking for "affordable luxury." Although the first citizenM hotel does not open until 2008, the chain has already won an award for Best Innovative Concept in the Midscale Hotel sector at the 8th Worldwide Hospitality Awards ceremony in Paris last month.

Geoff Andrew, Nexus Managing Director commented, "citizenM is a very innovative hotel chain and incredibly switched on from a technology standpoint. We're honoured that Nexus is able to play some part in what I'm sure will be one of the great success stories in the hotel industry."

I should have realised that this 'independent Mediterranean-style family-run property' was not going to be an ideal choice based on the Trip Advisor comment that said 'this could be a great hotel, just not in this country.' But downtown Houston was full for the NBTA Convention and I didn't want to be stuck out in the boonies with an almost-i ... [  Read More +  ]
